The motocross market has a new face on the scene in 2021 as Beta has revealed its new two-stroke MX model, the 300 RX. In the press materials about the bike, the Italian manufacturer made it clear that the photos and specifications seen here are of the preproduction model and that the actual production model’s decals and other small details may differ slightly. However, this is still a good indication of what the machine will look like and feature.

According to Beta, the 300 RX is designed for all levels and ages. The new machine features an electric start-equipped, 293cc two-stroke powerplant with a six-speed transmission that Beta says has been tuned exclusively for moto in every way. With an adjustable power valve, riders can dial in the amount of hit the engine provides.

A Keihin carburetor and VForce reed assembly are standard equipment on the 300 RX. The bike also utilizes a six-speed transmission.

The chassis includes a special frame built just for the RX model as well as longer-travel suspension with 12.2 inches of travel up front and 11.6 inches in the rear. The KYB closed-cartridge fork and Sachs shock have internal settings that were developed by Beta USA’s in-house suspension department.

“We wanted to build an MX bike that utilized many of the characteristics that our off-road racebikes have, but with more power and stiffer suspension,” Beta USA President Tim Pilg said. “The RX model shows how much fun a two-stroke can be. The sound and feeling of the bike is unmatched and I hope our future owners of the model will appreciate the effort put into the bike. It is truly special.”

According to Beta, the 300 RX comes with a 2.6-gallon gas tank, which is rather large by motocross standards. In that case, you’ll be able to do an extra long moto before needing to refuel.

Other features include a lithium battery, 19-inch rear wheel, Brembo hydraulic clutch, Nissin brakes, a VForce reed assembly, D.I.D DirtStar rims, push-button seat removal, and a composite subframe. According to Beta, the shock can be removed in less than 10 minutes without the need to unbolt the subframe.

There will be a very limited production of the Beta 300 RX in 2021, and it is scheduled to arrive in late October. The suggested retail price of the bike is $9,199.

Every 300 RX is delivered with a kickstand that can be removed, and it comes with an Acerbis 711 bike stand as well. The fuel tank capacity is rather large for a motocross bike at 2.6 gallons. Beta claims the dry weight of the bike to be 219 pounds. It also comes with a six-month limited warranty.
